Improving the communication, education, consistency and quality of clinical practice

Welcome to ALAMA

ALAMA exists to improve the communication, education, consistency and quality of clinical practice of doctors providing occupational health services for the benefit of local authority employees and employers (including those in the police, fire and the National Health Service).

ALAMA also has a lot to offer doctors who practice occupational health in the civil service, central government and further education establishments.

ALAMA is an association of like-minded doctors with a special interest in occupational medicine who work in the public sector. Originally for local government doctors, then fire service and police force doctors were included soon after and most recently NHS occupational physicians have joined. More generally, many doctors interested in occupational medicine have found it an invaluable association. Networking, peer support and tailored CPD are the core of the organisation.

CoVID19

A subgroup of ALAMA members have put together a risk assessment table to assist practising occupational physicians in their efforts to provide as clear anĀ  advice as possible, with the currrently available evidence, on this new and emerging disease and its impact.

The committee has decided to make it an open resource to members and non-members so that anyone needing help can benefit from it.
